Description 賽事性質
The ITTF
Junior Circuit is a series of high quality open junior tournaments
held annually around the world by National Associations. The series is
endorsed and supported by the International Table Tennis Federation
(ITTF).
Athletes
participating in each circuit event will earn points depending on their
performance, and an “Overall Points Standing” will be published by the
ITTF after each event. Sixteen junior boys and girls players will
qualify for the 2009 World Junior Circuit Finals being held in Tokyo,
Japan, including the top nine junior boys and girls in the Final Points
Standings, the top junior boy and girl player from each of the six
continents in the Final Point Standings, and one junior boy and girl
player from the host Association.
Not only
the event is significant to the ITTF Junior Circuit, it is also the
Table Tennis Test Event for the 2009 East Asian Games, which is eagerly
anticipated by millions of sport enthusiasts in Hong Kong.
The first
ever ITTF Junior Circuit – Hong Kong Junior Open will be held in
August 2009 at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium of Hong Kong.
由國際乒乓球聯合會授權及支持的國際乒聯青少年巡迴賽，是一系列高水平青少年賽事，每年由各國乒乓總會，於全世界不同的地方舉行。
運動員憑參加各站巡迴賽賽事，以其成績而獲取積分。國際乒聯會於每一個賽站後公布最新國際排名榜。於2009年年終獲取最高排名的九名男女運動員，六名州際最高排名男女運動員及一名主辦國男女運動員，共十六男十六女均可以獲取資格，參與於日本東京舉行的2009年世界青少年巡迴賽總決賽。
賽事不但在世界青少年巡迴賽中佔舉足輕重的地位，它更是全港數百萬運動迷熱切期待的2009年東亞運動會乒乓球比賽的項目測試賽。
