中國香港乒乓總會宣佈將主辦WTT大型賽事，以2025 WTT總決賽為起點，將國際最高水平的乒乓球賽事帶到香港

（2025年4月21日）中國，香港：中國香港乒乓總會（乒總）宣佈，香港與世界乒乓球職業大聯盟（WTT）達成長期協議，將主辦大型的 WTT 賽事，首場主辦賽事為2025總決賽，將於12月10日至14日在香港體育館舉行。有關簽約儀式亦於2025年4月17日在國際乒乓球聯合會會長 Petra SORLING 女士及中國香港乒乓球代表隊黃鎮廷先生見證下由乒總主席余國樑先生及世界乒乓球職業大聯盟(WTT)行政總裁Steve DAINTON 先生簽署，一眾中國香港乒乓球代表隊成員亦有出席表示支持。

作為國際乒乓球賽季的壓軸盛事，WTT總決賽將中國香港變為乒乓球的核心，世界頂尖球手將在此爭奪榮耀。隨著這一承諾，香港將成為這項運動的焦點，慶祝才華和決心的巔峰，並讓地區及全球的球迷可以享受此賽事。

在整個賽季中，來自全球的頂尖球手積累WTT世界排名積分，最終只有最強的16位男子和16位女子球手，以及首度將混合雙打納入正式比賽的前八強組合才能獲得進入這個高壓競技場。在乒總與 WTT的努力下，香港將獲一張混合雙打項目外卡，以確保本地球員可以參與這一項乒乓球界的盛事。

乒總主席余國樑先生對這合作表示高興：「能夠將這項世界頂級乒乓盛事落戶香港，是對乒總辦賽能力的充分肯定。我們將全力配合WTT，為球迷呈現最精彩的比賽，同時藉此推動地區及社區乒乓運動發展。」余主席補充：「這對我們的社區和我們地區的運動來說是一個重要的進步。舉辦WTT大型賽事不僅會為我們的球迷帶來頂級賽事，還將激勵新一代的球員和支持者，並且是向全世界展示香港作為國際體育盛事之都的絕佳機會。」

WTT總決賽不僅提升了香港作為頂尖體育目的地的聲譽，還與我們促進該地區乒乓球發展及激發青少年對投身乒乓球運動的願景相一致。乒總正為此賽事向文化體育及旅遊局申請成為M品牌賽事，相信香港對乒乓球的深厚聯繫，加上強大的持份者支持，可以使香港成為舉辦這一盛事的理想地點。

HONG KONG, CHINA TABLE TENNIS ASSOCIATION ANNOUNCES HOSTING OF MAJOR WTT EVENTS, STARTING WITH THE WTT FINALS IN 2025, BRINGING THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF INTERNATIONAL TABLE TENNIS COMPETITION TO HONG KONG

(21/4/2025) HONG KONG, CHINA: The Hong Kong, China Table Tennis Association (HKTTA) is excited to announce that Hong Kong has locked in a long-term agreement with World Table Tennis (WTT) to host major WTT events, starting with the 2025 Finals from 10 to 14 December at the Hong Kong Coliseum.  The Signing Ceremony was held on 17 April with the agreement signed by Mr. Tony YUE, Chairman of HKTTA and Mr. Steve DAINTON, Chief Executive Officer of WTT, and witnessed by Ms. Petra SORLING, President of International Table Tennis Federation and our top Hong Kong, China Team Player, Mr. WONG Chun Ting.  Other HKG team members were also present to show their strong support and commitment to this event.

As the season's grand finale, the WTT Finals positions Hong Kong, China at the heart of international table tennis, showcasing the world’s elite competing for glory. This commitment elevates our city as a focal point for the sport and presents a celebration of exceptional talent for the enjoyment of fans across the region and the world.

Top players from around the globe will compete for the coveted spots, with just 16 places available in each of the Men’s and Women’s Singles and the top eight duos in the newly introduced Mixed Doubles. With the HKTTA’s collaboration with WTT, one wild card will be allocated to HKG players in the Mixed Doubles event, ensuring local participation in this prestigious competition.

Mr. Tony YUE, Chairman of the HKTTA, expressed enthusiasm about this partnership: “We are honoured to welcome the WTT Finals to Hong Kong and proud that our city will serve as its home.  It is also a full affirmation of the HKTTA's ability to host competitions.  We look forward to working closely with WTT to deliver a world-class experience both on and off the table” said Mr. YUE. “This is a major step for our community and for the sport in our region. Hosting major WTT events over multi years will not only bring top-level action to our fans, but also inspire a new generation of players and supporters and also an excellent opportunity to showcase Hong Kong as a capital of international sporting events to the world.“

Hosting the WTT Finals enhances Hong Kong’s reputation as a premier sporting destination and aligns with HKTTA’s vision to promote table tennis in the region and to inspire future generations. The HKTTA is applying for M-Mark status from the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau for this event, confident that Hong Kong’s vibrant connection to the sport, along with strong stakeholder support, makes it the ideal host.

Mr. Steve Dainton, WTT Chief Executive Officer, remarked: “WTT Finals represents the peak of our WTT Series, where the highest-performing athletes come together to conclude the season at the very highest level.
