A place in the opening round booked; she overcame Israel’s Nicole Trosman, the no.8 seed (11-3, 11-5, 11-3, 11-8) to reserve her place in the last eight.

Similarly, Hung Ka Tak was in good form, the no.10 seed in the Men’s Singles competition.
